TAYO ODUMOSU took his first degree from the university of Nigeria. He was the first recipient of the one year Sir Adam Thompson (British Caledonian) scholarship. He utilized this award for an M.Phil degree at the university of Sussex, U.K. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Lagos Nigeria. He has a PG Diploma in Education and he also is an enrolled member of the Nigerian Institute of Town planners as well as the Nigerian Geographical Association and Nigeria environmental study/action team. He won the 1994/95 common wealth, an Economic Staff Fellowship. He has also contributed a number of scholarly work to reputable journals and book. Among these are: Economic stagnation, Slum development and environmental problems in urbanisation and development in Africa. He and Dr. Yinka Balogun are the authors of Lagos state in maps. He was the first Head of the Department of Geography of Geography and planning, Lagos state University, Ojo.
